Hey all, I’m back to blogging! Until I can figure out a nice pretty way to have my blog on my website, I’ll be linking to it instead.
Being that it is spring now, I’ve been getting into gardening. In the food category, I’ve got a planter full of herb seedlings such as basil, chives, cilantro, rosemary and Italian parsley. I’m also growing strawberries and tomatoes. In the flower category I planted some Begonia bulbs, a bleeding heart plant, and a little planter full of wildflowers for my daughter to watch grow.
My watering strategy has been a little off… to say the least. I’ve been trying to spray my little seedlings gently, but I end up doing it 3 or so times a day. So tonight I created the best little watering ‘can’. I took a used plastic cup, punched 3 holes in the bottom, and Voila! a watering can. There you go, my attempt at being ‘green’, aside from the actual gardening.
So what does this have to do with chocolate you ask? Well, right now my life revolves around my family and my chocolate business. So having access to fresh food for both is an important thing for me. So is trying to be frugal, and attempting to educate myself (i.e. knitting, cooking, blogging, building a website…,) to be a better mom and business owner. For my personal life and my business, especially nowadays, being frugal and resourceful is extremely important.
That, in a nutshell, is also why I will be a vendor at the “Eco Chic Wedding on a Budget” Bridal Show at the Temple Event Center on May 15th. Free and open to the public, this will be a great event with wine tasting, food tasting, and great vendors and info on having an “eco chic” wedding on the cheap. Register here for the event, and be entered to win your wedding free!!!
